The much-hyped and much-awaited Aamir Khan starrer Ghajini is set for a grand release on decmber 25, surpassing every Bollywood film so far.

The movie will release with 1200 prints all over India, beating Singh Is Kinng which was released with 1075 prints in August this year.Studio 18, the distributors of ‘Ghajini’, is planning to tap the larger fan base of actor Aamir Khan by aggressive distribution of the film. ‘Singh Is Kinng’, the movie which rocked the overseas market this year, was also from Studio 18. Aman Gill, Director of Domestic Theatrical Distribution, Studio 18, is quoted as saying: “Ghajini will be the biggest and widest release ever, breaking the record set by 'Singh Is Kinng'”.

‘Ghajini’ is a remake of A R Murugadoss’s hit Tamil movie Ghajini (Tamil) that was inspired from director Christopher Nolan’s psychological thriller ‘Memento’.It’s the confidence of the makers and the distributors of ‘Ghajini’ that has incited them to take the decision about the film’s wide release. In the situation of prevalent economic crisis where Bollywood is struggling hard to cover the losses, a film like ‘Ghajini’ can give some respite to the industry. It has been reported that Bollywood suffered losses of Rs 600 million in the month of October. The bombing of big budgeted films like Drona , Kidnap and Karzzzz shook the industry.

In such a scenario, banking on films like ‘Ghajini’ and marketing it well can prove to be a winner. ‘Ghajini’ is slated for the Christmas release. The movie stars Aamir Khan as an amnesiac. The film’s actresses are Asin and Jiah Khan .
