Amity University at Noida has been awarded the contract to train 30,000 volunteers for the Commonwealth Games.The university’s vice president (corporate communication), Savita Mehta said: “The organising committee of the Commonwealth Games has awarded this contract to us. We have to train volunteers in several fields like general training, role training, venue training, training for trainers and leadership training.”
Siddhant Satija, a prodigy pursuing B Tech Computer Science from Amity School of Engineering and Technology, Amity University has done his institute and the entire University proud by developing a software through which a layman can design a social networking website like “ Facebook”, “ Yahoo”, “ G- Mail” Siddhant, a second year student, did a seminal research on Web 2.0 implementation in Social Networking which was selected to be presented at National Conference sponsored by CSIR at SPSU, Udaipur from March 6-7, 2010.
Amity University, Uttar Pradesh held it’s annual “Convocation 2010” at Amity University Grounds, Sector- 125, Noida in which over 6,900 successfully qualified students of Graduate, Post- Graduate and Doctorate Programs of the Class of 2009 were awarded Degrees, Diplomas and Trophies.Baba Ramdev- World Renowned Yoga Guru, Mr. Deepak Puri -Chairman & Managing Director, Moser Baer India Ltd, Dr. Karan Singh- MP , Rajya Sabha and Mr. Arun Mohan- Sr. Advocate also joined the brigade of the Doctorate Degree recipients. These eminent people from different walks of life were honored during the Convocation with Honorary Doctorate Degrees in their respective areas.
Five students from ASET have made their entry into MTV show Gang NEXT. The group named ‘Da Mechanical Division’ includes students Gagan, Risham , Shashank, Himanshu and Akhil. Samsung Mobile MTV Gang Next is an online platform for 45 handpicked gangs all over the country to prove their mettle as MTV and Samsung Mobile ambassadors on their campuses. Each gang has five members – all of them represent their college and their city.
