YOU should start preparing for GRE when u r in 2nd year...if u want to apply for fall semesters then u need to apply for the universities in the month of September( a year ago ) ..so ideal time to take the test is july....i have started preparation now , so will be giving GRE in December and will be able to apply for spring session 2010(8 months will be wasted) :-[

when do courses generally begin in the US universities?
do they begin in both fall n spring?
