Now it has more than 50,000 student studying various courses in three different campuses Noida,Lucknow and now Jaipur.Amity university is a private university means it is not funded by government, thats why we see high fee structure.Well if you can afford the high fees then amity is a really good place for you.

I have seen many new students asking about the recognition of amity university. But they have not got the clear answers regarding it. So i am clearing there doubts here.

Previous Status
Amity university was Established under the "Amity University Uttar Pradesh Act, 2005" and notified through Government of Uttar Pradesh Gazette Notification No. 403/VII-V-1-1(Ka) 1/2005 dated March 24, 2005.and enacted by the 2f act of ugc (university grant commission).

This means the act of university was passed by Uttar pardesh government. It only means the university is passed by state government , but it is under consideration of UGC. UGC will consider all the aspects and then recognize it.

Current Status

Amity University,Uttar Pradesh is a private University established by an act of State Legislature of Uttar Pradesh and is empowered to award degrees as specified under section 22 of UGC Act , 1956.The degrees awarded by Amity University are valid as it has been created by an act of state Legislature of Uttar Pradesh.

This means Amity university is now recognized by UGC. As Court gave orders to include the name of Amity University in the list of indian universities.

AICTE Approval

Well the universities which conduct technical courses in their own campus they don't require AICTE approval.
See this for more information regarding AICTE approval

Higher Examination Eligibility

Well as the university is now recognized by UGC. So you will not face any problem while sitting for exams like IAS,CAT etc.For GRE,GMAT you were already eligible. They dont see any recognition , they just look for the degree you have.

Higher Education Abroad

Well i cannot guarantee that you will be eligible to get admission in top universities of USA.You may still face problems only in top universities. For this you should work really hard on your academics, GRE and research profile. That can increase your level and chances too.

Yes, very true.

Re: Amity University 3 years, 7 months ago #193

but if you get a good score in GRE, i dont think it will prevent you from getting admission into top universities of USA. will it?

But Amity is not FULLY recognized by UGC, as the doubts of many students say.
Amity requires to make this more clear.
and Number of Admissions should be controlled and limited, As the quality matters and not the quantity.
oxford has 3 times less number of students but is one of the top universities.
