Here i will try to remove all the confusions of students who are going through admission session.I know they are confused whether they should join Amity or not. Just follow these steps and decide yourself.

Step1 : My Status
Check yourself where you stand now.Have you cleared any other entrance exam like IIT,AIEEE,CET etc. What is your rank and what are you getting.

Ok now if you have cleared IIT and getting Civil or Chemical go for it. If you are interested only in the branches like CSE, ECE etc. Then wait and think.

Step2 : Comparisons
Now you need to start the comparisons.
Compare the colleges for following points.
1.Reputation (yes for having admission in foreign uni it will be the main factor).
2.Private/government (Prefer a government college)
3.Placements (No description needed)
4.Faculty ( You should consider good faculty than infrastructure. The reason is same higher education, recommendations from reputed faculty can increase your chances and research opportunities)
5.Infrastructure ( well about the labs etc.)
6.Fees

Step3 : Evaluate

Now evaluate the college profiles on the above points. And see which college fits your need.

Why should i join Amity

Now i will help you to decide if you should join Amity or not on the basis of above points.

1.Reputation :- As amity is very popular...but it does not mean it is well reputed . we have to see where it has got the reputation. ABS and ASET are well reputed colleges of Amity.Amity has 50,000 students. Amity is India's no.1 pvt university . Well these points can help you but are not that sufficient. But if you compare amity with other state colleges. Amity will definitely get more points. Reputation wise NSIT=DCE>NIT>Thapar>Amity>>State colleges.
The popularity of Amity will soon provide great reputation. So amity gets full points.

2.Private/government :- Well amity is a private university. But this tag only affects the fee structure nothing else.Carnegie Mellon University is also a private university of USA but is considered in TOP 10.

3.Placements:- Well placement in Amity is really 100%. You will have great opportunities to get placed every month during placement session. Placement wise IIT>>>NSIT=DCE>NIT>THAPAR>AMITY>>>State colleges.

.4.Faculty :- Faculty is ok type here. Very few faculties are experienced.

5.Infrastructure:- Infrastructure is really good here.Even better than NSIT and DCE.

6.Fees:- Fees is really high here.If you are not interested to spend more than 1 lac a year than amity is not for you.

With the above analysis i would suggest Amity over state level colleges.Even over some NIt's .
But if you are looking for big college than amity then please drop a year and try for IIT,DCE and NSIT.

But who dont want to drop a year and confidence then i would like to read this

Study hard dude, if ur best isnt good enough then try to do better.. and f#$k the misfortune bulls##t.

A higher ambition has to be supplemented by a higher effort.

Just get into any college u get, rather complete the course, 2 years drop is a very big loss.

U can aim for a better masters degree, even though u would have a degree from a lesser college. Ofcourse unless misfortune annuls ur future chance too.

Study to study, if prestigious college dont come now, study hard they will come later if u deserve it.

This was a suggestion to me when i was a struggling with my fate.I didn't drop another year and joined amity. i was confident on my creativity. i know what i have done in amity.
hi,
i want to thank dce people form my heart......see i am the same guy who started this forum 3 years ago

i once again say thanks to all the guys who helped me during that bad time and helped me to choose right decesion.....really it doesn't matter in which college u r , the only thing that matters is ur creativity....

in the end i joined any college(Amity) worked really hard got so many hurdles , struggled for 3years and finally saw the hard work paying....

now i am founder president of ATS( Amity Technical Society), President of IEEE, President of CSI, President of SAE.....Administrator of Amitylounge.com ( designed by me) , will meer founder president of Amity. also recived appreciation letters from uk for my work ( Student website, Amitylounge.com)

now i think hard work never go wasted....its just the begining, i know there is a great future ahead!

was posted by me

So best of Luck!

yes., amarjit sir. I had seen your posts in DCETECH forum. was touched.
I was constantly referring to Dcetech at my time for admission, and since i had not made it to any of the big colleges i chose AMITy, a decision i am happy for. infact i chose Ece here over EEE in VIT. just because i wasnot getting ECe there.

and wow sir. its been just a month since ASE changed name to ASET and it has been updated even in the rankings!!!
